A treasure. A sweet circa 1903 hallmark silver Chester English, Edwardian Chatelaine stamp envelope case in sterling silver.
The lovely little silver envelope is fully hallmarked with the word "stamps" scrolled across the front of the envelope - originally carried along as part of a chatelaine set with your stamps handy for letter writing. Maybe it was gifted to encourage letter writing to a loved one?
This little Edwardian envelope case measures 28mm long x 24mm wide x 37mm hang.
The envelope flap opens and closes well and securely.
Do note that the silver envelope is much loved with a couple of flee bite bumps front and back with a slight seam gap on the top by the o-ring setting. I repaired the pendant o-ring fitting, noting that it now hangs securely. The condition of the envelope has been considered and it is priced accordingly.
