Taxco is a small city in Mexico located in the highlands between Mexico City and Acapulco.  The city of Taxco is famous for producing some of the finest handmade silver artisan jewellery in the world and is often referred to as ‘the silver capital of the world’. 

This glorious swirl modernist sterling silver form brooch is marked TM 60 or 6L 925, indicating T for Taxco city and M for the makers initial and the number 6 / 60 indicating that the artisan was the 6th silversmith registered - somewhere post 1955 to 1970s. 

The brooch is a beautiful minimalist flow and has dimensions of 43mm wide x 40mm high.  (Exact brooch priced internationally at R1730.00)
