An exceptional piece of history. This high carat yellow gold ring holds 6 precious gemstones that are arranged in a sequence to spell “Regard”. In the Victorian to Edwardian era jewels such as this sent a secret message from an admirer - expressing affection or admiration during times when open declarations were not always socially acceptable. The word “Regard” is spelled out with the first letter of each stone “Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond”. This Belle Epoque Romantic era ring is made in a high carat unmarked gold. The gold tests as between 14ct to 16ct (selling as minimum 14ct yellow gold). The ring would be an incredible ring to gift as a token of love. Ring inside diameter 16.9mm (ring size M 1/2).
