Sold as an “after Anthonius VAN DYCK (1599 - 1641)” this exceptional miniature portrait is a perfect rendition of King Charles I (life 1600 - 1649).
The miniature portrait is signed “van Dyck” but is credited as a 19th century artist rendition to miniature size of the original artwork of King Charles I by van Dyck (life 1599 - 1641). It is a master rendition.
It is framed in a mosaic inlay of ivory and wooden tiles and held securely behind a domed glass. Frame and artwork dimensions: 10.3cm x 10.2cm.
