How incredible to be able to own such a gorgeous piece of history.

This Georgian era paste teardrop shaped dangle is a lovely survivor from the era 1714 to c. 1830–1837. I’ve paired the dangle with a Belle Epoque era French style Gun Metal fob brooch.

The two look perfect for today’s wear - ready to tell their history to you.

The Georgian era, 200 year old black dot paste dangle features delicate silver work and foil backing - a beautiful example of the craftsmanship of the era. Paste itself was a very labor intensive process which involved hand cutting and polishing glass as one would a gemstone. High quality paste, as here, had a black dot painted on the bottom of the glass to imitate the open cutlet of a diamond and was cut and shaped to catch candlelight sparkle optimally.

The ornate and lovely French Belle Epoque black Gun Metal ribbon bow was originally a ladies Lapel fob watch brooch.

The unit truly presents well, with dimensions of 52mm drop x 30mm wide.

Glorious.
