A beautiful pair of miniature paintings signed by European artist Mayer.
The pair of Victorian to Edwardian dames are expertly hand painted in Victorian revival style on ivorine or celluloid medium. The artist is signed as Mayer, though I do believe this is a fine, hand painted art rendition of Mayers antique portraitures.
The twonoble women are each framed in an ornamental brass and ivorine or white cellulloid inlay. The ivorine inlay imitates ivory with each portrait set behind a convex acrylic glass. The back of each picture is lined in a faded green silk material with the original hanging eyelet attached.
The two darling paintings are elegant wall hangings in good vintage condition. Dimensions: 14cm x 15.5cm.
