An exceptional piece of history. This French Napoleon III era antique silver cross pendant is all over set with hand cut and hand faceted rock crystal gemstones. The cross is a gloriously well preserved treasure, with the central rock crystal measuring an estimated 1ct in size. The cross terminals each ends in elaborate Rock crystal set Fleur-De-Lis shaped terminals. The silver cross hallmark is small yet reads as a match to the French weevil silver mark (era 1860s - 1893 with minimum silver standard of 800/1000). This cross is beautiful. It is to be noted that one of the rock crystals was historically replaced (top finial / bottom left). The replacement crystal is also antique and hand cut yet slightly whiter in colour. The cross dimensions is 59mm drop x 32mm wide. The cross hangs from the original swan neck pendant fitting that is set with 3 foil backed rock crystals. The rock crystals in the pendant setting are all open backed to allow for maximum light reflection. It is an heirloom piece.
