A spectacular and much desired large antique double star, 12 pointer celestial star brooch.
This magnificent antique star brooch is all over encrusted with hand cut, sparkly diamond paste gemstones.
It is truly magical and large with 37 graduating, hand cut paste gemstones.
The celestial star symbol is much loved and revered as a symbol of hope, guidance and eternity. It has been treasured as signs of good omens and symbols of deepest desires.
This spectacular and large diamond paste brooch is an original late Victorian, possibly early Edwardian dress piece, representing guidance, direction, and wisdom.
The silver is marked 900, possibly of French or Austrian origin.
The diamond paste gemstones are hand cut with a high rise dome. None of the gemstones are chipped yet there is slight yellowing and clouding of some of the paste diamond stones.
The brooch measures a large size of 45 mm in diameter and a good weight of 14.4 grams. The brooch opens and closes with an era specific c-clasp fitting.
