A Portuguese religious medal with the Madonna, “our Lady of Miraculous Conception” painted on the front of the pendant in swirling robes.
The rolling script inscription on the reverse of the pendant reads for "Na. Sa. da Conceicao" referring to the Virgin Mary's Immaculate Conception, a significant religious figure and patroness of Portugal, commonly found on traditional Portuguese jewellery.
This lovely pendant holds the antique porcelain disc framed in silver. The enamel is not chipped but age related copper discolouring is visible along the border of the enamel, indicating that the enamel is on a domed copper plate.
The pendant has dimensions of 33mm drop x 17mm wide. Please note chain is not included in sale.
