A magnificent and large, highly ornate antique sterling silver pendant.
The solid silver, hallmarked circa 1896 pendant is one part of an upcycled baroque revival, fancy filigree form belt buckle.
This side of the belt buckle depicts a left facing winged Cherub angel figure blowing a trumpet. The cherub figure sits on the high rise centre and is surround by a fancy filigree, baroque scroll border.
The sterling silver hallmark on this pendant is simply the English Passant mark and the F importers mark. Note that the opposite pendant holds the full hallmark for London, circa 1896. The silver F mark is for imported silver works (importers mark into England for the period 1867 - 1904).
I upcycled the buckle form into a pendant by adding a chunky bail and swivel ring.
This sale is for the left facing cherub angel.
His pendant has dimensions of 64mm hang x 43mm wide x a solid 14.3grams.
