An exceptional piece.
This fine antique Japanese Cloisonne Ginbari pigeon blood enamel vase is a high quality, artisan made mid 1900’s oriental collectors beauty.
This exceptional vase demonstrates the pinnacle of Japanese vitreous artisan enamelling.
The vase is beautifully large and colourful in a deep crimson red enamel. It is detailed with fine pink and white chrysanthemum and cherry blossom flowers. The back end of the vase holds a deep-set bamboo plant design that is visible within the red enamelling.
The vase is in excellent vintage condition with no chips and no cracks. The vase lip and base is set with a silver metal rim.
The vase is accompanied by a loose fitting lid - I am not sure if it was originally part of the vase. The lid is detailed with a green bird in flight. Do note that the lid’s crimson enamel has a background crack, which is visible in certain light. Note that the lid is added as an extra, with condition not impacting the price of the vase.
This vase is an exceptional acquisition for collectors and lovers of fine Oriental objects of virtue.
Vase dimensions: 16cm high x 12cm wide.
