A true Edwardian treasure - a lovely oval, smaller sized gold front and back photo locket that is precious and so beautifully detailed with flowers and botanicals front and back.
The two yellow gold “fronts” of the locket are alternatively hand engraved with a rose flower patterning and a lovely floral and ribbon bouquet engraving on the reverse.
The meaning of front and back means the locket's visible front and back is made of 9-carat gold. In this case, the hand engraved gold front and back plates are fused onto the gold pinchbeck frame.The inner frame, hinges, and bale of the locket is of a pinchbeck style gold tone metal, used to ensure strength and longevity of wear for the locket.
The inside of the locket holds the original, thick glass-set photo frame. T
