This glorious and luxurious pair of mid-century modern earrings, are crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold and set with richly banded Tiger’s Eye cabochons. The stones are alive with a golden-brown colour that catches the light which shifts the colours arounds as you move.
The fancy gold earrings features a stunning floral gold frame setting that surrounds the oval stones. The Tiger’s Eye gemstone where very much in vogue during the 1940s - 1950s due to the bold, exotic look of the gemstone and its associations with confidence and resilience — qualities much admired in the post-war era when people sought both glamour and strength in their adornments.
The solid 9ct yellow gold earrings were originally screw-back earrings, which has been thoughtfully converted to shepherd hook fittings for an elegant and modern drop dangle earring for pierced ears.
The earring pair weighs a good 7.8 grams as a unit and has dimensions of 20mm long x 16mm wide.
This fine example of modernist craftsmanship is perfect for lovers of retro gold jewellery.
