Extra ordinary and an exceptional example of Navajo silver art, this handmade necklace and earring set holds a repetition of silver swirls and blue turquoise stones.

The earrings are much desired as they are by reputed Navajo designer Mildred Parkhurst.   Highly regarded, Mildred Parkhurst learned the art of silversmithing by watching her parents (her mother was famous Navajo jeweller Isabelle Kee). Parkhurst is originally from Hunters Point on the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona.

This remarkable necklace is made up of a 5 times repetition of the domed silver swirl forms with a total chain length of 55.5cm.  The chain can be adjusted for a shorter wear.  The necklace set is marked by a makers mark (unidentified) and a sterling metal mark.

The earrings hang at 42mm drop and are marked with a M makers mark for designer Mildred Parkhurst. They are sterling silver.

The set is in exceptional vintage condition and is truly a collectors piece of jewellery.
