An incredibly large and exceptional 1960s -1970s era vintage locket that is such a statement size.
The large oversized gold locket has a beautiful paisley engraving on the front and is marked as 9ct metal core by American silversmiths JS.
9ct Metal core was used from the beginning to mid 20th century and consists of 1/5th gold over a jewellers alloy. This type of construction gives more strength and durability than pure gold and has four times as much gold as rolled gold.
This large gold locket is in pristine, unused condition and opens and closes with ease and still has its original blue paper and plastic “glass” fittings in place.
This is an heirloom gold locket.
