An incredible piece of historic art and display jewellery.

A fine and solid 18ct gold frame and backing holds the hand painted, green toned miniature portrait of a Georgian era English Gentleman called John Allan.

The miniature art piece is a mourning brooch or pendant or wall portrait with fittings for a brooch or pendant / portrait hang.  The memorial piece is engraved with Johan Allan’s name and obituary date of 17 June 1835 and the Æ.t 28 sign, meaning that he was in his 28th year of age.

The high carat gold framed miniature holds a woven lock of Allan’s hair behind a small glass frame.

The gold framed portrait is a brilliant size for display at 64.5mm long x 52mm wide.  The portrait and high carat gold frame weighs a glorious 43.1 grams.

The Georgian gold is unmarked but tests as 18 to higher carat in value.  The miniature art frame allows you to wear this glorious piece of heirloom art as either a brooch, a pendant or display as home jewellery.
