.925 1940s double Swallow marcasite Art Nouveau revival love token sweetheart brooch

A really lovely 1940s vintage silver and marcasite bird brooch filled with sentiment and beauty. 

The silver marked brooch holds two Swallow birds, with their long tails forming a heart analogy. 

Swallow birds hold a symbolism of love and protection and were often given to a beloved as a token of safe return. 

It’s a lovely vintage treasure.
