Celestial Crescent Moons were hugely popular for Victorian jewellery lovers. It embodied the female spirit - representing the moon as a goddess, as a constant to change and phases of life and spirituality.

This mesmerisingly magnificent and large Victorian diamond crescent moon brooch shimmers with 25 gently graduated old mine and rose cut diamonds.  It is the perfect antique celestial celebration that will allow you to spread lunar light wherever you go. The pin mechanism of this very well made antique crescent brooch is removable, indicating that it might have once had a pendant fitting or have been used as a decorative element on a tiara. Upon request I can arrange for a screw in pendant fitting to be made for you.

Total diamond weight:  2.76 carats, with the 8.7 grams crescent brooch being hand created in darkened silver over 9ct. rose gold.  This credits the heirloom diamond crescent brooch as era circa 1870’s.

Dimensions:  41.2mm diameter.

Gemologist evaluation and valuation will be included with sale.
